The numbers behind credit card

The idea of a credit card has existed since the late 1800s, but standard really has been in the 1950s. If you're like one of 177 million Americans, you need at least a credit card. If you like most, you have somewhere between 3 and 5 cards. Fortunately, the number of credit cards you hold is not indicative of the amount of debt you keep. Here is a small tour of the American credit card swamp.
